Woodstock GA Homes for Sale
Woodstock, Georgia, one of the fastest growing suburbs in the nation, has emerged as a trendsetting town with an atmosphere of energy and growth. The largest city in Cherokee county, Interstate 575 and State Highway 92 make Woodstock an accessible commute to and from Atlanta. Businesses are thriving in and around the historic Main Street, where residents and visitors can stroll, dine, shop or access trails to local parks.
The Greenprints Alliance reflects the active lifestyle at the heart of this community. Initiated in 2007 by residents wishing to preserve the natural beauty of the area and facilitate cycling and pedestrian opportunities, the project has tremendous implications, not only for recreational purposes, but in the increased quality and value of area real estate. Mountain bike trails, from beginner to advanced, hiking paths, and paved walkways are just some of the features of the multiple interconnected parks. The 1.5 mile Noonday Creek Trail, the first segment of multi-purpose trails to open, is accessible from Downtown Woodstock on Market Street or from “Woofstock Park,” the local dog park.
“Woofstock Park” was developed as a result of repurposed land, after flooding in 2009 destroyed an apartment complex, and forced rezoning of the floodway. With grant money from FEMA, the city of Woodstock purchased the land, and designed an impressive dog park with separate large and small breed off-leash areas, shade structures, fountains, benches and restroom facilities. Connected to both Noonday Creek and Town to Creek Trails, families can enjoy the outdoors with their canine members, as well.
The Woodstock Office of Economic Development is committed to the success of local businesses and entrepreneurs. The staff and administration remain abreast of the latest in small business development through education and partnership with nearby universities, such as Kennesaw State University. The Georgia Small Business Development Center Network is another resource available to local business owners, to aid in establishing and retaining a relevant model under which to operate profitably.
Business and leisure are both well-represented in Woodstock, where families can live an active lifestyle, embrace the out-of-doors, and pursue excellent educational opportunities, all within reach of the cultural metropolis of Atlanta.
